Phedre Has MOVED!!

Just a short note to let you all know I have moved my modeling blog to another site. I recently came to the conclusion I needed something more than what Blogger has to offer for professional reasons.

At this time, I have no plans on shutting down my Blogger blog. I intend to use it for a more personal place to post my thoughts, rants, raves and what-have-yous.

If you would like to keep up with what I have been up to in the world of virtual modeling please join me at http://phedrelefevre.wordpress.com/

With kind regards,

Phedre

SHIKI Designs Fashion Show in Second Life

Today I had the exquisite pleasure of participating in modeling the creations of the most devinely unique SHIKI Designs. I could spend hours gushing over the beauty, simplicity and down right gloriousness of the two gowns I was chosen to represent. Rather than do that I will give you a little background on the two people behind these magnificently crafted gowns.

Shinichi Mathy, owner and creator, launched SHIKI in Second Life in the spring of 2008 with a small collection of men's casual wear. In 2009, SHIKI expanded and launched the women's line. Since then SHIKI has become known for its unique and distinctive designs with high-quality, hand-drawn details. Shinichi continues to push the envelope in SL fashion with the addition of Vinn Wong, an artist and personal friend of Shinichi Mathy in RL, to the SHIKI creative think tank.

Vinn often uses his work as an expression of his emotions stemming from his life experiences. A revelation of himself, raw, uncut. Exposing his inner self to the world through color and motion with the hope of encountering others who see the beauty of the world around them and know what is it to live in the heart of a cloud.

You can find these and many other remarkably impressive designs in Second Life at http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Shiki/182/153/28

Please visit Vinn Wong's website at www.vinnwong.com to view his extraodinary artwork.

Helvana in Casella

Cherry blossom trees in full springtime bloom, cascading their soft petals in a light breeze, fanning down to the grassy carpet in a slow dance to the silken strings of a shamisen. A luscious garden overflowing with wildly colorful blooming flowers, trees and shrubs.

Rebirth in Awakening

Phoenix rising from the ashes in all its glorious and fiery colors, a pure symbol of rebirth and renewal. A new awakening to a new world seen through the wonderous awe it inspires in our hearts and souls.

Diamond Style Fashion & Skin Show

Hello again!

I still have a bit of time before my first rehearsal of the next fashion show I will be walking the runway in, so I thought I would try to get this posted while I have the time. I apologize if it seems a bit rushed. The Diamond Style Fashion & Skin Show, produced by Dallas Modeling Corporation (DMC) had been scheduled for January 18th in Second Life but due to a very hard sim crash it was postponed until the 23rd. I walked 5 times in the Diamond Style Fashion & Skin Show so I have 4 outfits to show you. I'd also like to apologize for not having any snapshots of the Diamond Style Skin Doris Sunkissed Make up 01 from my first walk in the show.

Diamond Style came into being in Second Life in September of 2012 when the curators of Glamour Style and Diamond Avatar merged thier businesses into one. The store is located here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Black%20Veil/192/75/25  and the link for the blog is http://diamondstylesl.blogspot.com/

If it seems a bit odd that I speak of myself in third person, the descriptions I have used are the ones I wrote for the show. It isn't uncommon for Second Life models to be required to write their own descriptions for the creations they model.

Susanne Short

Phedre really shines in this casual ensemble. You can too! A daringly low cut scoop necked silk blouse in copper, gold lame shorts and a luxurious leopard patterned fur bolero style jacket edged with contrasting fur at the neck and sleeves, this outfit really stands out in a crowd. Topped by a jaunty hat trimmed with the same luxurious leopard patterned fur, the Susanne look is complimented with woolen stockings, calf high boots, gloves and a handbag. Perfect for a day on the town or a night out clubbing!

Ambra

Reminiscent of the elegance and grace of the 1950s this eloquent cocktail dress is called Ambra, a style perfectly suited to Phedre's tastes. The bodice is intricately embroidered in a paisley pattern along the modestly v-cut necklined bodice and echoed in the pearl beaded skirt. Snug fitting sleeves left open up the inseam are edged in a delicate lace. The matching embroidered handbag and hat complete this scrumptious ensemble.

Loren

Awash in moonlight, Phedre appears to float in this asymmetrically necklined gown with its effervescent floral pattern. The plunging open backed bodice presents an enticing display to the eyes. Flowing sleeves and a fluid skirt make the Loren evening gown an elegant addition to any wardrobe.

Lidia Pink

Giddy as a debutante, Phedre presents an alluring yet demure countenance in the strapless Lidia gown with its sweatheart neckline and lightly ruched glistening bodice. Floating tiers of ruffles cascade to the floor from the dramatic symmetrically dropped waistline. Matching opera length gloves complete this softly hued enchanting confection.

I really enjoyed modeling these lovely gowns and outfits for Diamond Style. It had been my intention for the Diamond Style Fashion & Skin Show to be my re-debute back into the world of vitrual worlds fashion. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. However! It was my re-debute back into the world of Second Life fashion! Once again, all is well that ends well!

Oh! Before I forget here is a link for a short video of the fashion show for you to enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o8BSKh4igE

Romance Couture 2013 Look Book Fashion Show @ InWorldz

Hello everyone,

I've been very busy as of late and I haven't had much time to spare inbetween RL, getting ready for shows and trying to teach myself how to use Photoshop CS5 Extended. However, I wanted to get at least this one post out before the Orleans Blues Designer Gown Competition in InWorldz, February 13, 2013 from 12 - 7 pm IWT (same as SLT).  In this competition I will be modeling 2 gowns, one from New York Couture and one from Romance Couture. This event will take place on the Orleans Blues sim in InWorldz so join us this Wednesday if you can.

As I mentioned in my last post I participated in the Romance Couture 2013 Look Book Fashion Show on January 19th. It was such a pleasant and an amazing experience to walk the runway with approximately 60 people in sim for my first walk since 2005. I'm still a little shellshocked there was no lag!

Eleseren Grey, owner and designer of Romance Couture, is a dream to work with.  She is a trained designer dressmaker in real life (London College of Fashion and English Couture Company), with a previous successful couture Bridal and Evening wear business.  She would sketch a design  in discussion with a client, draft a pattern from the sketch, make up a calico toile and fit on the toile, then proceed to a perfectly fitted gown, sometimes taking over a 100 hours to craft.  Ele's specialities were hand beading, applique and crewel embroidery.  In InWorldz her goal is to create timelessly elegant and stylish formal gowns.

Here are two examples of Ele's work, both of which I had the honor of modeling for her during the Romance Couture 2013 Look Book Fashion Show.

Gala Wine Gown

As dreams of sugar plums dance in my eyes, I am the belle of the ball in the Gala Wine Gown. The ruched bodice, adorned with intricately placed jewels and tassels with shimmering beadwork, enhances the de'colletage neckline. Overlaying the bodice is a snug fitting waist-length bolero style jacket with fitted point sleeves and a ruffled collar. Floating tiers cascade to the floor while the court train tiers are edged with floral patterned glistening beads, accented with a ruffled bustle that echoes the jacket collar.

Glitz Peacock Cocktail Dress

From the Frou Frou half hat with mantilla veiling of point d'esprit lace to the diamond and ribbon accented Genoa sling back heels, all eyes will be on me in this glamourous Glitz Peacock cocktail dress. The sequined bodice features a de'colletage neckline accented by gold filigree embroidery, off the shoulder short sleeves and a sheer portrait collar. Gossamer tiers cascade from the dramatic symmetrically dropped waistline, enchanced with a short court train.

Simply scrumptious! All accessories (including hair!) were provided by Romance Couture and can be found in the store. Romance Couture is located at Amphitrite (152, 167, 1102) in Inworldz.

Last, but definately not least, here are a couple of videos of the Romance Couture 2013 Look Book Fashion Show for your perusal:

DMC Graduate!!

Just a quick post to let you all know I did graduate from the Dallas Modeling Corporation Academy on December 23, 2012 and to show off my certificate.

After having been down with a bad case of flu before Christmas I haven't really had much time to post anything. On the morning of January 6, 2013 I climbed out of bed only to be greeted with a searing, burning, white hot pain ripping across the left side of my ribcage. All that hard coughing from the flu caused the muscles on that side to tear. Just my luck it had to happen the day before orientation for my first walk on the runway after so many years. Fortunately for me by the time first call rolled around I was able to sit in my computer chair for short periods of time.

It was not easy and I didn't have just one fashion show to walk... I had two back to back!! The Diamond Style Fashion & Skin Show, produced by Dallas Modeling Corporation (DMC) had been scheduled for January 18th in Second Life but due to a very hard sim crash it had to be postponed until the 23rd.

The day after the hard sim crash, January 19th, the Romance Couture 2013 Look Book Fashion Show in InWorldz took place, also produced by DMC. It was amazing! There were 60 people on the InWorldz sim at last count and there was no lag!! None! Zip! Zilch! Nada!

More on the two shows later. I've got a few pics I took to show you the clothes I was modeling and a couple of video links I'll be posting for your viewing pleasure. For now you'll have to settle for helping me admire my graduation certificate! ;op~

Onwards and Upwards!
